There is the BPN file but this will always be one save older than your PLN file so wouldn't be much help in this case. Now this is different than autosaving in Windows where Rhino would save an additional backup file to a separate location.The only true backups of your files occur only if you manually save them yourself or set up some backup software that can periodically backup all your files.Įven these software backups are only as good as the interval for which they are set (weekly, daily, hourly). And Autosave in OSX overwrites your main file. So this feature automatically saves your file in the background about every five minutes or so, also anytime you pause working or switch to another application. Let's talk first a little bit about OSX Autosave. In the long run though, these changes are actually really helpful to avoid, say losing data in a crash and to help make sure that what you see on screen is the same as what's saved in your Rhino file. It's additionally a little bit confusing since not all programs that run on a Mac operate this way and, in fact, some programs use the same terms, Autosave and Versions, to describe different things. Now these features behave quite differently than what you might be used to in Rhino for Windows. Rhino 5 for Mac integrates two newer features from OSX for managing files.
